The five stages of
the model perform the following tasks:
1)Check-in: Probability distributions are used to predict
arrival times, deviations from appointments, etc. Health records are gathered and entered.
2)Waiting Room/Pre exam – Height, weight, body temperature
are taken before entry to the exam room.
3)Exam: The actual
examination is performed. A referral
may be given, if needed.
4)Checkout and Charting – patients leave the exam area. The activity of the exam is placed on the
chart, health data is recorded, documenting future needs is created.
5)Post-checkout – the data that is collected and entered into
the computer is processed.
Preparations are made for the next visit by the patient.
