Harpoon missiles used by S-3B aircraft – a twin jet antisubmarine warfare carrier based aircraft, carrying a crew of four: pilot, copilot, tactical coordinator and sensor operator. Built by Lockheed California Company

HACLCS provides the means for preparing and launching the missiles. It includes Harpoon Aircraft Command and Launch Control (HACLC), two Control Distribution Boxes (CDB), two Fire detection Control Units (FDCU) and two missile umbilical cables.

Computer mode is highly automated using the capabilities of both the aircraft computer and the HACLCS.
LOS provides a backup launch capability in the event of degraded equipment performance
