SCANALYZER YEAR 2000 SOLUTION VERSION 2.1 RELEASED

Lyndhurst, NJ: Arthur Hendela, president of Hendela System Consultants, Inc., announced the release of the SCANALYZER YEAR 2000 SOLUTION software Version 2.1. The software upgrade features several improvements. The new editor brings you to the specific program line to be fixed and the improved search method locates more kinds of problems.

"Users of SCANALYZER software work closely with us," said Hendela. "We were able to respond to our customers’ needs and make significant improvements upon Version 1.1.," Hendela added.

SCANALYZER customers received software upgrades to Version 2.1. "We are very excited about the improvements in the system software, 26 in all," said Hendela.

The software, which is being marketed worldwide, addresses the Year 2000 problem which is large in scope. "Our customers are finding out now how important it is to take control of the Year 2000 problem," said Hendela. "There are countless instances in which the Year 2000 problem surfaces, and SCANALYZER 2.1 provides a cost effective tool to identify these problems for correction," Hendela added.

The historical significance of the Year 2000 problem dates back to the 1970’s when computers started being used commercially. Software developers made an economic decision to use only the last two digits of the year. For instance, the year 1971 became "71". They saved money and memory space which was at a premium rate.

Companies, both large and small, must update their computer programs to recognize the Year 2000 before the end of the century. If they do not, programs such as billing, scheduling, and maintenance will become inoperable. This inoperable condition is brought about by the computers interpreting the two digit ‘00’ as 1900 instead of 2000.

"The year 2000 problem is more widespread than most people think," said Hendela. "The problem doesn’t just exist on large mainframe systems. Mid-sized and small computer systems also have the problem," he added.

"The SCANALYZER software is made to help find the problems regardless of the size of the company or program," Hendela said. The software identifies the computer program code which may need to be updated. The program is for use by all mainframe, LAN, and workstation environments which can export text files to a Windows 3.1x, 95, or NT PC. It is compatible with all text based programming languages such as Nomad, Foxpro, RPG, COBOL, and C.

For less money, the program "frees up valuable resources and provides a quick search method to see where the problems lie," said Jeff Miller, a consultant in the development of SCANALYZER.
