| NEW
or Modified SCANALYZER Features: FILE/Application:
Added the Active?
(Y/N) field to the Application screen to
inactivate entire applications at one time.
Useful for rescanning only one application.
Added the
"Set All Active" and "Set All
Inactive" buttons to the Application Name
screen. Use the "Set All Inactive" to
save time during rescans. Click on "Set All
Inactive". All the applications will be set
inactive. Add your new applications. Rerun your
scan. The scan will be performed only on your new
applications. You may also inactivate all
applications and reactivate just selected ones to
limit your scan time. (version 2.20)
FILE/Text
to Find:
Added the
"Set All Active" and "Set All
Inactive" buttons to the Text to Find
screen. Use the "Set All Inactive" to
save time during rescans. Click on "Set All
Inactive". All the previously scanned tokens
will be set inactive. Add your new tokens. Rerun
your scan. The scan will be performed only on
your new tokens.
Added the Active?
(Y/N) field Text to find Maintenance Screen.
FILE/Exclude
Extension:
Added the ability
to inactivate files with a particular extension
during file import. Use Exclude Extension to set
files such as ZIP, EXE, DLL to "N",
automatically. This will make setup much easier.
Files
Added the
"Set All Active" and "Set All
Inactive" buttons to the File Name
Maintenance screen. Use the "Set All
Inactive" to save time during rescans. Click
on "Set All Inactive". All the files
will be set inactive. Activate selected files.
Rerun your scan. The scan will be performed only
on the active files. (version 2.20)
SCAN:
Scan statistics
are saved in a new database file, SCANSTAT.DBF.
The scan statistics can be reported from the new
report pull down, "Scan Statistics
Report".
100% Complete is
displayed only after last file has been scanned. (version
2.20)
Language
Changes:
The OTHER language
category has been expanded to support more more
rare languages not on our predefined list.
Added Additional
Language Choices.
COBOL:
Scan is performed
in columns 6-72. The entire 1-80 is placed in the
results file.
FORTRAN:
Scan is performed
in columns 7-72. The entire 1-80 is placed in the
results file.
FOXPRO
2.5/2.6:
Add analysis of
IDX (simple Index), LBX (labels), and CDX
(compound index) files
FOXPRO
2.0:
Add analysis of
IDX (simple Index) and CDX (compound index)
files.
BROWSE
RESULTS:
Added the
"File Name Contains Filter". Type part
of a file name to limit your result view to just
those files. For example, type ".CBL"
to view only the COBOL part of an application.
Added the
"Full Line" and "Column
Range" filters. You may now scan for your
"Text Line Contains" entry in a certain
range of columns. (version 2.20)
Added
"c" to the list of valid Include
values. The "c" means that the Y2K
problems have been corrected. The ratio of the
number of "c" to the number of
"c" + "y" will give you an
idea of how the remediation work is progressing.
(version 2.20)
Changed the
default for GOTO LINE from 1 to 0. "0"
will always place you at the top of your filtered
set of results. "1" would try to place
you at Physical record number 1. If physical
record 1 was not in the filtered set, you were
placed at the bottom of the result set.
Added the new Sort
Order, "Line Order". Line order sorts
the results by line number inside of a file. You
can more easily spot multiple hits by multiple
tokens for a given line.
Added new Group
Update/Include choice: Y->?. This allows mass
update for results that require further
examination.
Added new Group
Update/Include choice: ?->y. This allows mass
update for results that required further
examination and have been determined to be
significant. (version 2.20)
Added new Group
Update/Include choice: ?->n. This allows mass
update for results that required further
examination and have been determined to be
insignificant. (version 2.20)
Added new Group
Update/Include choice: n->Y. This allows mass
update for results that had been mistakenly
marked as insignificant. The Include flag is
reset to the starting value originally given by
the computer during scanning. (version 2.20)
Added new Group
Update/Include choice: y->Y. This allows mass
update for results that had been mistakenly
marked as significant. The Include flag is reset
to the starting value originally given by the
computer during scanning. (version 2.20)
Added Count button
to quickly see how many records are contained in
the filter. This is a faster process than
clicking on Browse when there is an empty Filter
set.
Result choices
such as "Text line Contains" and sort
order are kept during your entire SCANALYZER
session. (version 2.20)
NOTE: YOU MUST
REACTIVATE THE brresult SCREEN WHEN YOU SELECT IT
FROM THE WINDOW PULL DOWN. TO REACTIVATE
brresult, CLICK ON THE SCREEN OR PRESS ANY KEY.
Result
Browser:
Added F2 to edit
the file at the line given in the "Line
No" field. Inside of edit you may open
reference files, cut and paste between them, Save
as a new file, or Revert back to the previously
saved copy. Click on File Close to leave the file
you were editing.
Changed the drop
down menu from the "-" from Close to
"Next Window". A Foxpro bug caused the
Machine to halt when "Close" was
pressed following an edit session. "Next
Window" closes the result browser but
doesnt halt your machine. (disabled in
version 2.20)
Browser
preferences such as column size and column order
are kept between sessions. (version 2.20)
You may cycle
through all open files, the result table browser,
and the BrResult screen. The number of reference
files you have open is limited by the amount of
memory you have available. (version 2.20)
You may open
reference files and keep them open while changing
Filter Criterion. (version 2.20)
REPORTS/SCAN
Statistics Report
Added Scan
Statistics Report choice.
REPORTS/Y2K
Analysis Reports
Added
"?" include flag to filter Results
Report.
Changed sorting of
results file name by line number.
Added Active?
(Y/N) field to Files Report.
Added Active?
(Y/N) field to Text to Find Report.
Added Exclude
Extension Report.
Added Last Import
Results report. This report shows the files
accepted and rejected from the last ASCII text
file import. The results exist until the next
file import is performed.
You can improve
management reporting by exporting the Estimate
Summary and the Results Reports to either ASCII
or EXCEL formats. You can adjust and select the
lines per page and the pages you would like
created for the ASCII Export. These reports can
then be attached to email.
UTILITIES:
Added Delete
Results menu pick. You may delete one application
or all applications scan results while
preserving the rest of your setup information.
Added Import Text
to Find Menu pick and screen. Setup an ASCII text
file with one token per line and automatically
import the list into the Text to Find database.
The ASCII file can be a modified version of your
cross reference listing. Remove all cross
reference information except for the variable
name. Import this modified file. Rerun your scan.
SCANALYZER can then track where the variables are
used.
Added Sort Result
Data in Line Order menu pick. This option is used
to increase Browse Result performance when
viewing by Line Order.
OTHER:
The Text to
Exclude feature speeds the analysis of results by
automatically marking certain lines of code as
insignificant based on your own set of text
strings.
You may choose to
only scan the program files, run the exclusion
list against the results, or both.
SCANALYZER 2.50
can now analyze both Clipper indexes (extension
NTX) and DBase III indexes (extension NDX) for a
much more complete analysis of your xBASE code.
You can improve
efficiency by only deleting records determined to
be insignificant.
